Llanbedrgoch

A substantial body of knowledge about Llanbedrgoch has arisen due to major archaeological excavations.

A defensive system was established here in the 9th century (presumably to protect against Viking raiders). Despite this the excavations have also uncovered artefacts that are likely to have been the resultof trading with the Vikings from Ireland.
